Who each app suits
Both apps log the basics. They're just built around different jobs.
Huckleberry may suit you if you want guidance on when your baby might nap, a structured sleep plan, or an in-app guide to ask questions. Those are the parts its paid plans are built around, and whether they're worth it depends on what you're after and your budget. Its free version includes tracking and caregiver sync, so you can try it before deciding.
Milkstop may suit you if you mainly want one shared record of feeds, sleep, nappies and growth that you and your partner, grandparents or carers all log into. Each person has their own sign-in, every entry shows who logged it, and it works offline. Milkstop is free to use, with no subscriptions and no feature paywalls.
Milkstop doesn't do sleep schedules, nap-time suggestions or advice. It's a personal log, not medical advice. If you have questions about your baby's sleep or feeding, talk to your midwife, child health nurse or GP.
Some families use a log for the day-to-day record and get sleep guidance elsewhere. There's no wrong answer here.
For more side-by-side comparisons, see how baby tracker apps compare or our Nara Baby alternative page. If sleep is your main focus, see our free baby sleep tracker page.
Switching from Huckleberry
Thinking of trying Milkstop? A few things to know:
- Milkstop can't import data from other apps. You'd start a fresh log in Milkstop.
- Keep a copy of your Huckleberry history. If you want a record of what you logged there, check Huckleberry's help article on exporting your data.
- Set up your household. Add your baby, then share your invite code so your partner can join. Our guide on how to share a baby log with your partner walks through it.
- Overlap for a day or two if you like. Keeping both going briefly can help while you get used to the new layout.
